Gear pumps are positive displacement pumps which physically compresses a fluid through mechanical action.
We at Iyappan Engineering Industries have supplied 2 types of Gear pumps to Defence sector.
Like most gear pumps, also has a driver gear and a driven gear. A driver gear is also called a master gear, while a driven gear is called a slave gear. The driver gear is attached to primary shaft of the gear box in the tank's sources. Delivery pump & Left-Hand suction pump also has a driver gear and a driven gear. A driver gear is also called a master gear, while a driven gear is called a slave gear. The driver gear is attached to primary shaft of the gear box in the tank's sources.
Delivery pump is used in T72 Ajeya Tanks. This pump is installed on the front flange of the Final Gear Box of the tanks. It is driven by the primary shaft of the Gear Box.
It delivers oil to hydraulic control systems and lubrication of the power train.
LH (Left Hand) Suction Pump is used in T72 Ajeya tanks. LH Suction Pump is installed on the LH Gear box of the T72 tank.
This pump returns the oil accumulated in gear box and transmission unit to main oil tank
Fluids move inside a gear pump when the interlocking gears enclose a fixed volume of fluid and then transfer it as the gear rotates. The fluid is trapped on the suction side and through the gear assembly discharges the trapped fluid at a higher pressure on the discharge side.
